Epiduo Gel is the first once daily topical acne treatment that combines the retinoid adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. It has been available since the first quarter of 2009 and is produced by Galderma Laboratories. It was designed to simplify the management of mild to moderate acne in patients.
Efficacy studies show that Epiduo Gel is more efficacious than either of its components used alone.
Benzoyl Peroxide can be irritating to certain skin types and can also cause bleaching to clothes and other garments. Adapalene has been none to be less irritating than some of the other retinoids.
Off Label Use: Some forms of this medication are used to improve the appearance of the skin and minimize fine line wrinkles.
